Dy. Chief Minister & Minister For Energy, Govt. of Maharashtra & Chairman, MSEB Holding Company Ltd Shri Ajit Anantrao Pawar has taken over as Minister for Energy of Govt. of Maharashtra on November 19, 2010. With this he is also an ex-officio Chairman of MESB Holding Company Ltd, Mumbai. Earlier he was the Minister For Water Resources (Excluding Krishna Valley Irrigation Corporation), Command Area Development, Water Supply & Sanitation since November 09, 2004 in Maharashtra Ministry. He had also headed the Ministry of Rural Development & Irrigation during 1999 to 2004. He was appointed as Minister of State for Energy twice in June 1991 & Nov. 1992, respectively. He hails from village Katewadi in Baramati Takuka of Pune District & represents Baramati Assembly Constituency since 1991. An acclaimed politician and social worker also holds various positions of importance in many other spheres throughout his public life. A farmer by profession, he looks forward at the overall development and upliftment of farming community in the State.
