Shri Subrat Ratho being the Managing Director of MSEB Holding Company Ltd. and the Secretary (Energy) in charge of Government of Maharashtra is the ex-officio Director of MSEDCL. Presently he is also the Managing Director of MAHAGENCO wef from Feb.2nd 2009. Prior to these appointments. He worked as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Shri Ratho joined the Indian Administrative Services in the year 1986 and was allotted to Maharashtra cadre. A postgraduate in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Shri Ratho had worked at Latur, Nanded, Buldhana and Gadchiroli districts in various capacities. He had also assisted former Governor of Maharashtra Dr P C Alexander as a Deputy Secretary in setting up Regional Developmental Boards for the removal of development backlog of the different backward regions in the State.
