Shri Sitaram Kunte is an IAS Officer at Government of Maharashtra.  He currently holds the post of Principal Secretary, Planning Department at Government of Maharashtra.  In past, he held the post of Secretary, Housing Development at Government of Maharashtra and also held additional charge of Principal Secretary, Energy at Government of Maharashtra.  He is graduated from Delhi School of Economics and has acquired LLB from Lala Lajpatrai College of Law, Mumbai University.  In addition to this, he has studied in School of Public Policy, University of Birmingham, UK and Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs from Syracuse University.  His professional experience is in the field of public administration in Maharashtra for the past 26 years. He has specialized in urban development, housing issues and Public Administration.  He was responsible for implementing programs of housing for the urban and rural poor.  He contributed to reforming the legal regulations for the Housing sector, including drafting amendment to Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act.
